St George wins ABF Best Business Bank 2007

(18 May 2007 – Australia) St George Bank has picked up the gong for Best Business Bank at Australian Banking & Finance publication’s 2007 awards. St George group executive, Institutional & Business Banking, Greg Bartlett accepted the award at the ceremony, which was held at Sydney’s Sheraton on the Park hotel.

National Australia Bank took out the award for Best National Financial Institution with group chief executive John Stewart giving his acceptance speech via a pre-recorded video message.

Westpac won Sustainable Bank of the Year; Commonwealth Bank chief executive Ralph Norris won Best Banker; Suncorp won Best Regional Bank; and HSBC won Best Foreign Bank.

Macquarie Bank chief executive Allan Moss was inducted into the Hall of Fame. The bank also took out Best Investment Bank.
