Westpac appoints new Head of Financial Markets - Asia

(23 October 2015 – Australia) Westpac this week announced Sneha Sanghvi as its new head of financial markets in Asia.

She joins the Australian bank from Unilever and has prior experience in the banking sector with roles at Morgan Stanley and HSBC.

Sanghvi will be replacing Michael Bass at the bank’s Singapore office, and reporting to Balaji Swaminathan, Westpac International’s general manager and Michael Correa, Westpac’s head of corporate and international origination and distribution.

The appointment follows the bank’s commitment to expand its fixed income and foreign exchange activities in the region. Sanghvi will primarily focus on providing investment, structured and hedging services to clients that operate throughout Asia Pacific.

In early 2014, Westpac said that it wished to increase headcount in Asia by an extra 100 people by 2016. In the same year, it invested A$60 million in its Asia operations.
