ABC opens in Australia

(26 March 2010 – Australia) Assistance from Austrade and the New South Wales Government has allowed China’s largest provider of finance to the agribusiness sector to open shop in Australia. The Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), set up in Sydney to offer high-quality services for Sino-Australian economic exchange, relying on the bank’s diversified business and strong customer base, which will provide a sound platform for enterprises both in China and Australia.

The establishment of the office joins ABC with the Bank of China, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the China Construction Bank, and the Bank of Communications, which now means China’s top five banks have representation in Australia.

Of the five, the Agricultural Bank of China has the most number of branches and outlets with more than 3,800 touch points. It also employs more than 440,000 employees and more than 350 million customers.
