AIBF forums set to explore the future of IT in financial services

(24 February 2004 – Australia) Australasian Institute of Banking & Finance (AIBF) has assembled a stella cast of financial services technology heads to speak at two industry forums next March. The theme of the forums is ‘New technologies and solutions for financial services’, an exploration of the direction technology is taking the financial services industry and how the next generation of technologies will forge new financial products and services.

Speakers include Westpac head of Portfolio Optimisation Ed Bosworth; IBM global head of banking Dr Mark Greene; St George head of IT John Loebenstein; and Wizard Home Loans’ Angelo Malizis, among others.

Among the many topics the speakers will discuss are: Improving customer service and reducing costs through technology; Platform rationalisation and standard operating environments; Basel + bandaids; and what will branches of the future look like?

AIBF chief executive John Unkles said the forums were designed to bring together both people involved in developing the technology and those who implement them in a banking industry context.

He said it was an opportunity "not to be missed".

The forums take place in Sydney on 16th March at the Four Seasons Hotel and Melbourne on 18th March at the Sheraton Towers.

For more information on the forums and how to attend, details are available at www.aibf.com.
