ANZ advances role of women
(9 November 2005 – Australia) ANZ has reaffirmed its gender equality credentials by appointing a head of Diversity whose principle role will be to further advance the contribution of women within the bank.
New appointee, Fiona Krautil, was director of the government agency Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace from 1999 to 2004.
Since then she has been chief executive officer of the Asthma Foundation of NSW.
Group general manager of People Capital, Shane Freeman, said the bank had made good progress in advancing its agenda around diversity and women in the workplace.
"There is however still a great deal to do and Fiona’s background is ideally matched to the challenge ANZ has in taking our agenda to the next level," Freeman said.
ANZ was named Leading Organisation for the Advancement of Women by the Australian government in 2005.
Krautil starts with ANZ in 2006 and will be based in Sydney.
