ANZ appoints chief economist
(19 February 2010 – Australia) Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has announced the appointment of Warren Hogan to the position of Chief Economist.
Mr Hogan became Acting Chief Economist in August last year when the former Chief Economist, Saul Eslake, left the bank.
As part of his role Mr Hogan will be responsible for leading the group’s economics and global markets research team, which provides economic analysis on the Australian economy, global financial markets and the economies of major trading partners.
Mr Hogan will also co-ordinate ANZ’s regional economic and financial markets capability across Asia and New Zealand.
Before being appointed to Chief Economist, Mr Hogan was Head of Australian Economics and Interest Rate Research at ANZ.
Mr Hogan previously held roles with Credit Suisse First Boston, as Chief Economist and Head of Interest Rate Product Research, and has worked in senior economist positions at Westpac and with the NSW Treasury Corporation.
