ANZ gets new CIO

ANZ gets new CIO

(Australia) ANZ has named Mike Grime as successor to high profile CIO David Boyles. Grime will join the bank from Standard Chartered, where he headed up the bank’s technology operations globally. He will relocate from London to Melbourne.

Grime has also held senior technology positions with Citibank in Europe.

The outgoing Boyle joined ANZ from American Express in 1998 after being asked to recommend someone to take up the mantle. US-born Boyle decided he’d like the job himself.

During his tenure at the bank, Boyle eschewed outsourcing for the most part, preferring instead to set up a "tech shop" in India, which developed much of the bank’s technology.
