ANZ keeps branching out

(7 November 2007 – Australia) ANZ has opened its 80th new branch since 2004 after cutting the ribbon at its new premises at Perth’s Kingsway Shopping Centre. ANZ group managing director, Personal, Brian Hartzer, said ANZ had led the way in investing in its branch network over the past three years, a move which he believed gave the bank a competitive advantage.

He said the bank recognised that its customers wanted a more personal, face to face style service.

The new branch in Western Australia means ANZ now has 820 full service branches in Australia. The bank has also added 1,040 ATMs to its network over the past three years, giving it a total of 2,280 ATMs.

Hartzer said fierce competition meant the bank couldn’t sit still and it would continue looking at ways to take customer service to the next level.
