ANZ on track with kiwi integration

(13th January 2004 – Australia) ANZ announced a $48 million national branch refurbishment as part of its strategy to grow its retail business at the bank’s Annual General Meeting in Brisbane late last year. The bank also said integration of recent purchase, National Bank of New Zealand, was also "on track" with 41 active work streams underway and that Sir John Anderson had been appointed chief executive of the combined business, to be known as ANZ National Bank.

ANZ confirmed statements made in its recent Rights Issue Prospectus for modest earnings per share growth in 2004.

During the AGM the bank re-elected John Dahlsen and Charles Goode as directors but Joy Buckland was not elected.
