ANZ picks up lender of the year award
(11 March 2010 – Australia) Australia and New Zealand Banking Group has been named Australia’s lender of the year at the inaugural Australian Lending Awards.
The award honours the best lender in the Australian mortgage space at the current time.
In an interview with the online publication Real Estate Business, the bank’s general manager specialist businesses Glenn Haslam said that the bank was thrilled with the win, considering how much competition there is presently between majors.
"It is always nice to win an award, but this one is something else. It is great to get some recognition for all our hard work," Mr Haslam said.
"Competition between lenders has increased dramatically of late, so it is good to know that we are still recognised by both brokers and consumers as being the number one lender."
The Australian Lending Awards takes into account the opinions of 6,000 borrowers and 500 mortgage brokers and are based on the actual experience that consumers and brokers have had with lenders in the market.
