Australia secures currency conversion deal with China

(03 April 2013 – China) The Australian Government has secured a currency conversion deal with China. Prime Minister Julia Gillard received approval from the Labor party as well as the opposition to secure the deal that should cut the costs of doing business with China.

The currency deal has been pushed by Australian businesses as well as the banking sector for some time.

It is expected Gillard will sign the deal in Shanghai soon after attending the Boao Forum for Asia early this month.
