Australian Shareholders Association signs up Rapid Ratings

(2 November 2004 – Australia) Equity research house Rapid Ratings has signed a deal with the Australian Shareholders Association to provide its members with independent stock market research services. ASA members will be able to access online information on companies that was previously only available to institutional investors, research houses and brokers. Th research will include buy, hold or sell recommendations on companies in the ASX Top 200.

Rapid Ratings chief executive Dr Patrick Caragata said both parties shared a philosophy of using independent research to promote good corporate governance and to protect the interests of individual investors.

The company recently entered into a similar deal with Singapore’s Security Investment Association. It also reached an agreement with global investment bank Lehman Brothers to provide independent equity research.

ASA chief executive Stuart Wilson said it was hard for private investors to gain access to top shelf independent research and that he was thrilled to be able to offer Rapid Ratings’ services to his members.
