BAML gets a new head of EMEA

(19 April 2018 – Europe) Bernie Menash is taking over as president of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Europe, Middle East and Africa business.

Mr Menash, who currently co-heads BAML’s global FICC trading and will continue doing so in addition to his new role, replaces Alex Wilmot-Sitwell, who stepped down as the bank’s EMEA president in mid-March.

Mr Menash, an ex-Goldman Sachs banker joined BAML in 2010.

The new role will see Mr Menash work closely with Bruce Thompson who is leading the bank’s Brexit strategy. BAML has already said it will create a new bank and broker dealer business in Dublin to serve EU clients once the UK leaves the single market next year.
