BankWest appoints new media buyer
(22 November 2006 – Australia) BankWest has appointed Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG) as its media buying agency for the bank in 2007.
BankWest head of Marketing Stephanie Buckland said SMG showed an innovative approach to strategic planning and campaign development, and had experience in developing strategy for financial services.
The bank chose SMG after viewing four pitches in October with media effectiveness specialist Media Metrics helping the bank during the process.
"The review process was rigorous and assessed agency credentials in four key areas including strategy and planning, negotiation and buying, business management and innovation and insights," Buckland said.
