BankWest gets Carter

(29 November 2007 – Australia) BankWest has appointed aged care expert Nick Carter as its national director of Retirement Living and Aged Care. The bank said Carter would lead an aggressive industry specialisation strategy for its Commercial Banking division.

BankWest head of Commercial Banking, Gary Johnson, said the bank was looking to recruit experienced industry leaders such as Carter, who will be based out of Sydney.

Carter was most recently head of Retirement Living and Aged Care at Adelaide Bank, following a stint as the NSW and VIC State Manager for the Aged Care sector for Adelaide Bank.

Before joining Adelaide Bank, he spent 17 years with Westpac.

Carter said BankWest was determined to grow its business by doing things differently and really focusing on the client in an industry sector that he described as diverse and challenging.
