BankWest hunts SME gold in Ballarat
(23 May 2007 – Australia) BankWest continues to boost its presence in Victoria, opening a new office in Ballarat and appointing Vin Armstrong as business development manager for the region.
David Sproules has also joined the bank from Westpac as assistant relationship manager.
BankWest head of Rural and Regional Banking Jamie Ritchie said there was growing demand from businesses in the Ballarat region for competitive financial providers.
"Ballarat continues to be a key regional centre for commercial business and the agribusiness community," he said.
Armstrong has more than 25 years experience in SME and middle markets banking.
"Because of its proximity to Melbourne, the Ballarat district has seen a housing boom with new sub-divisions and housing approvals increasing each year," Armstrong said.
"The region is well equipped to cater for businesses wishing to decentralise and BankWest is suitably placed to help these businesses with their growth plans."
