BankWest names head of corporate for NSW

(10 July 2006 – Australia) BankWest has beefed up its Corporate Banking division with the appointment of Paul Mazzola as NSW state manager. Mazzola has joined BankWest from ANZ where he was regional executive for Corporate Banking in Sydney. Before this he was director of strategy with ING Investment Management for Asia Pacific, among other roles.

"Paul is ideally suited to lead our expansion in NSW. BankWest is looking to build its position as a leading corporate and commercial bank in Australia," BankWest head of Corporate Banking Bob Beard said.

"BankWest is challenging the status quo, expanding across the nation and recruiting high calibre bankers. We are the fastest growing business bank and because we’re growing, we’re working harder to grow the businesses of our customers," he said.

Mazzola said he was keen to join BankWest because it was "flexible, transparent and did not have the "bureaucracy of other large organisations".
