BankWest to harvest business customers in Mildura

(2 February 2007 – Australia) BankWest continues its business banking expansion in regional Australia with the appointment of two Business Banking Managers in Mildura, Victoria. Last week BankWest opened a business banking centre in Goondiwindi to service customers in Goondiwindi, St George, Moree and surrounding areas.

The new recruits in Mildura, John Bloomfield and Ron Haines, are BankWest’s first rural and regional representation in the area.

Bloomfield, who has more than 30 years experience in the banking industry at ANZ and Westpac will take on the commercial, corporate and agribusiness portfolio in the region, as part of a team led by head of Rural and Regional Business Banking Jamie Ritchie.

Haines worked for Westpac for more than 30 years and also Suncorp where he was Central Queensland district Manager before joining BankWest last December.

Ritchie said BankWest will create further competition in the banking and financial services sector in Mildura.

"As a bank, we are driving competition and change in the banking and finance industry by providing specialised industry experts who have the knowledge to bring the financial know-how that rural and regional businesses need," he said.
