Big telecomms bank outsourcing downunder
(Australia) - National Australia Bank (NAB) has closed an agreement to outsource its trans-Tasman communications to dominant Australian carrier Telstra, under a five year term valued at an estimated A$600 million.
Looking to achieve savings of A$120 million over the length of the contract, 71 NAB employees join Telstra and Telstra Clear (in New Zealand).
Covering the provision of telephony and data services to the Bank, Telstra's Enterprise Services division (the old Advantra) will also manage NAB's estimated 27,000 desktops under three year, rolling operating leases.
