BNP Paribas strengthens securities services business

(17 February 2004 – Australia) BNP Paribas’ Securities Services division has appointed former Deloitte Financial Services Advisory leader Wendy Leong as Product and Strategy Analyst. Leong has consulted to local and global financial organisations for 15 years and was a key player in establishing the custody and investment administration consulting business in Australia in the early 1990s.

Leong set up and ran the custody consulting practices at Towers Perrin and Deloitte & Touche in the US. She will be based in Melbourne, reporting to the bank’s head of Product and Strategy, Daryl Crich.

According to BNP Paribas, the bank settles more than 22 million securities transactions each year and currently manages portfolios under custody totalling A$ 3.6 trillion across 70 countries.
