BOQ appoints director
(24 February 2010 – Australia) The Bank of Queensland yesterday announced the appointment of David Willis as its non-executive director.
Mr Willis brings to the bank over 32 years experience in the financial services industry and has worked in Asia Pacific, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia.
Most recently Mr Willis, who is a chartered accountant, held the role of CEO of HBOS Australia.
Other roles of Mr Willis’ include a variety of senior executive positions at Westpac and he has also been the managing director of Lloyds Bank Australia.
The appointment of Mr Willis as non-executive director follows the retirement of director Peter Fox last November.
Neil Summerson, chief executive officer, Bank of Queensland, acknowledged that Mr Willis’ extensive experience will complement the board’s current skill set and will be an important addition in assisting to strategically drive the bank’s growth.
