CBA does internet banking deal
(Australia) - Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has reportedly closed a deal with Irish software house Eontec for its second generation Internet banking channel, NetBank 2.
As reported in last week’s Banking News, the Bank has experienced a doubling in usage volumes across its platform, originally built to handle a million online customers.
The markets are waiting on a briefing later this month from CBA to flesh out the detail of its second generation internet service but the general architecture appears as though it is to be built around Java components that are capable of re-use across a variety of applications such as the physical branch network, ATM outlets, call centres as well as the internet itself.
