CBA executive returns

(21 July 2010 – Australia) Matt Comyn, formerly CommSec’s long time chief executive, has returned to the bank just six months after taking a position with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as CEO. During his initial time with the Commonwealth Bank Mr Comyn was a prominent force behind the growth of the online broking arm CommSec.

Mr Comyn joint Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s retail broking joint venture at the beginning of this year, which post a merger between Morgan Stanley and Citigroup’s global stockbroking business created the world’s biggest stockbroking group.

Senior broking executive Harry Parkinson has been appointed by the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to take charge of the venture.
