CBA gets new CIO

CBA gets new CIO

(24 February 2006 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank has appointed Michael Harte as group executive, Technology Services. Harte takes on the role in April that was left vacant when Bob McKinnon left CBA earlier this year.

Harte was most recently executive vice president and chief information officer at PNC Financial Services which is one of the world’s largest investment funds administrators.

CBA chief executive Ralph Norris said Harte would bring to the bank a "first class information technology background gained through senior positions in some of the world’s leading financial services companies".

Harte will continue the bank’s efforts to ensure its technology "enhances the way the bank interacts with its customers".
