CBA goes lite on EFTPOS terminals
(Australia) Commonwealth Bank has launched its Paylite EFTPOS terminal targeting smaller businesses that process under $100,000 in card transactions each year, and which do not require all the trappings of normal terminals.
"The low rental cost of PayLite, coupled with the proven cost-efficiency benefits of EFTPOS will be attractive to many merchants using paper-based systems and help them to upgrade to electronic processing," CBA general manager, Merchant Acquiring, Working Capital Services, Peter Roeleven, said.
"The tangible benefits of online authorisation, including spending more time with customers and making fewer trips to the bank are now truly affordable," he said.
He said additional benefits of PayLite were its operation, ease of use, modern design encompassing an integrated printer and modem, all of which took up minimal counter space.
Rent for the new terminal is $16.50 a month.
