CBA goes up a gear with EDS
(10 July 2007 - Australia) Commonwealth Bank has extended its IT outsourcing arrangement with EDS Australia through to mid 2012.
EDS will provide CBA desktop services, ATM, enterprise processing and other user services.
CBA group executive officer for IT, Michael Harte, said the bank decided to renew its agreement with EDS following a thorough review of both its desktop requirements and the ability of EDS to provide CBA with enhanced services.
He said the aim was to provide a consistent consumer experience between work and home with improved interactivity and convenience.
Harte said the service level agreements between EDS and CBA were at a level equal or better than the bank's peers.
Harte threw down the gauntlet to other providers, such as Dell, HP, Microsoft, Xerox and Fujitsu, saying they each had to raise their standard of service to meet the bank's new arrangements.
