CBA poaches employees

CBA poaches employees

(9 December 2009 – Australia) The Commonwealth Bank has added a wealth of knowledge to its institutional equities business by acquiring 16 new employees, mostly from investment banks. Amongst those appointed into research, database and sales roles are the now former staff members of JBWere, Citibank, Macquarie Group and Goldman Sachs.

Mark Storey has been appointed to the position of head of research product for CBA and was formerly an analyst for investment bank Credit Suisse.

David Hancock, head of institutional equities and debt capital markets, CBA, said that the bank is delighted to have such a strong group of experienced institutional research analysts and sales people join the Commonwealth Bank.

For the past 12 months, the bank has focused on building and renewing its Institutional Equities business and these new appointments will significantly enhance CBA’s capability in this important product set, Mr Hancock added.
