CBA unveils SME ecommerce solution

CBA unveils SME ecommerce solution

(28 April 2009 – Australia) CBA has announced a new ecommerce solution for SMEs, dubbed eVolve, for the management of online shopfronts and online payments. CBA said that, with the launch of eVolve, small to medium businesses can develop, integrate and manage their online shop front, including online payment facilities.

The bank describes the package as a comprehensive end to end e-commerce solution for businesses.

It is a transactional services platform with an online payment facility as well as a comprehensive, self-customisable, online shop front.

CBA executive general manager Local Business Banking, Symon Brewis-Weston said that a tough economic climate where doing business online can be an attractive proposition was a main motivator for the product release.

Commonwealth Bank general manager Merchant Services, Dominic White, said that the focus of the new solution was to avoid managing technology and cost barriers that usually come with doing business online.

White also said that eVolve moves away from the existing tendency to white label existing packages from various service providers.

CBA said that eVolve includes standard card processing functionality; such as a virtual terminal and batch payment functions, as well as advanced features. These advanced features include the ability for businesses to design, implement and manage their own online shop front, as well as an increased level of online security for batch information management.
