Citi launches contactless payment stickers

(11 June 2010 – USA) Citibank customers in America can now request a contactless payment sticker to attach to the back of their mobile phones, enabling them to make payments at MasterCard PayPass readers. The bank quietly rolled out the stick-on option for its customers who can request it via the bank’s website, using the tag line ‘The back of your phone just became its coolest feature.

Customers can make payments up to US$50 at the MasterCard PayPass readers with the purchases linking back to customers’ Citi credit card accounts with purchases appearing on their monthly account statements.

The Citi payment tags are supplied by Oberthur Technologies.
