Citi Private Bank Names Global Market Head for China

(4 August 2021 – Singapore) Citi Private Bank has named a new global market head for China to grow its offering for mainland Chinese entrepreneurs.

Based in Singapore, Lillian Liao joins the Bank as a managing director and global market head, reporting to Rudolf Hitsch, Citi Private Bank North Asia head, and Lee Lung-Nien, Citi Private Bank chairman & South Asia head.

Liao will be responsible for leading a team of private bankers to serve Chinese entrepreneurs in Singapore. The aim is to expand bespoke offerings tailored to the investment, financing, strategy consulting, estate planning and banking needs of property owners and their families and taking a patient approach.

Liao was most recently a senior client partner serving clients from China at Credit Suisse. She previously worked for HSBC, UBS and Deutsche and brings with her 20 years of experience in wealth management.

“Since our mainland China offshore team was founded in 2010, our philosophy has been to focus on understanding clients’ needs and becoming the bank that can best help them achieve their goals outside of China. This creates mutual trust and symbiotic relationships that make sense for both sides and are long-term, ”says Hitsch.
