Citigroup Australasia boss joins ABA council
(4 May 2004 – Australia) The Australian Bankers’ Association (ABA) has appointed Citigroup Australasia chief executive officer Ahmed Fahour to the association’s Council.
Fahour was also elected deputy chairman, continuing the Citigroup connection, as he replaces Citigroup Australia managing director Les Matheson.
The peak body’s chairman, ANZ chief executive John McFarlane, said Citigroup’s global perspective on regulatory affairs affecting the Australian financial services sector was valuable to the ABA.
