Credit Suisse appoints ETF specialist

(9 February 2010 – UK) Credit Suisse has announced the appointment of Dan Draper as its new head of Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) and managing director of the bank’s Asset Management business. Mr Draper joins the investment bank from Lyxor Asset Management, a division of Societe Generale, where he held the position of managing director and global head of Exchange Traded Funds.

Based in London, Mr Draper is charged with the task of continuing the growth the bank has already achieved with the expansion of its ETF platforms in 2009.

Credit Suisse launched 16 new ETF platforms across Switzerland, where they are the largest player by assets under management, as well as the expansion across Europe with the launch of 17 new EFTs in Italy and 16 in Germany.

Oliver Schupp, head of Beta Strategies in Asset Management and co-head of the bank’s ETF Steering Committee, said that Mr Draper’s extensive experience over the past decade in the development and trading of EFTs will be invaluable as the bank continues to grow that sector of its business.

Prior to joining Lyxor, Mr Draper was the director of UK and Ireland Business Development at iShares, a division of Barclays Global Investors.
