Credit Suisse appoints Neil Harvey as CEO Hong Kong and Greater China

(23 January 2013 – Hong Kong) Neil Harvey has been appointed new Chief Executive of Credit Suisse Hong Kong and Co-Chief Executive of Greater China. As CEO for Hong Kong, Harvey will also be responsible for overseeing the business and people strategy.

He will share his responsibilities as Co-Chief Executive, Greater China, with Liping Zhan, who will maintain his position as vice chairman, Global Investment Banking Department.

These appointments reflect the strategic importance of the Greater China region as one of the bank’s key growth opportunities worldwide.

Zhang and Harvey will also oversee and maintain all local regulatory relationships in Greater China.

Harvey has been involved in investment banking and asset management for 27 years and has significant knowledge and understanding of emerging markets and Asia Pacific having worked in Asia Pacific for 15 years.

His 13-year career at Credit Suisse has spanned many roles and regions with his most recent role as Head of Asia Pacific and Global Emerging Markets for the Asset Management division.

Harvey was a founder of Credit Suisse's Global Emerging Markets Fixed Income business. He has held various other senior positions at the firm responsible for business in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Latin America.

Zhang joined Credit Suisse in 2004 and has over 30 years of financial industry, corporate management and government sector experience.
