Credit Suisse expands in Singapore
(12 May 2006 – Singapore) Credit Suisse has taken on more office space in Singapore, saying the move signalled further expansion and commitment to Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.
The bank has leased new space at One Raffles Quay which will house IT, operations, finance and product control staff.
Credit Suisse said the new facility had room for 1400 staff and that 900 of these positions would be filled by the end of 2007.
"Singapore is a vital centre for the entire region, both in terms of our regional business strategy and our regional support operations," Credit Suisse chief executive officer for Asia Pacific, Paul Calello said.
The bank currently employs more than 2000 staff in two Singapore locations, working in investment banking, private banking, and asset management.
