Customers expanding

(24 October 2007 – New Zealand) ATM group Customers Ltd has continued its expansion in Australasia by acquiring a 25 percent stake in NZ company ATM Services. The investment, a step towards Customers reaching its goal of becoming the biggest ATM operator in Australasia, is valued at $NZ1 million (A$839,000).

Greg Baker, executive chairman, Customers, said the investment delivered exposure to a market which he expected would grow rapidly through the increase in independent ATM deployers.

Customers said that ATM Services was an emerging provider of merchant ATMs and related services.

Mr Banker also said that ATM Services has been working with Electronic Transaction Services Ltd, the transaction processing business of New Zealand's leading banks, to be part of the pilot rollout of the country's first convenience ATMs, expected to commence in early 2008.

Last Month, Customers announced an ATM branding agreement with St George bank in Australia.
