Day appointed ANZ customer advocate

(21 November 2007 – Australia) ANZ has appointed Rhonda Day as its new customer advocate. Day replaces Bill Robinson who has retired after holding the position since 2002.

ANZ described the role of customer advocate, which is about resolving disputes that have not been resolved during the bank’s internal resolution procedures, as an independent one, reporting directly to CEO Mike Smith.

Day was previously assistant state ombudsman in Victoria and joins ANZ from Monash University where she was interim university student ombudsman.

ANZ set up the role of customer advocate in 2001 as part of its Customer Charter.
