Deutsche Bank bulks up equities team

(18 May 2010 – Australia) Deutsche Bank has announced three appointments to its Australasian equity capital markets team. The additions include managing director Justin Dwyer, director Robert Snow and associate Melinda Robertson.

Mr Dwyer joins as Head of Equity Origination and has over 16 years of industry investment banking experience in both the Australian and US markets.

Mr Dwyer’s experience has seen him hold senior roles in equity capital markets and investment banking at UBS in Australia and the US and was most recently head of US Capital Markets at Babcock and Brown in New York.

As part of his previous role Mr Dwyer has originated and executed numerous capital raising and investment banking transactions for leading Australian and US public and private clients.

Mr Snow joins Deutsche Bank having over 10 years experience in investment banking and equity capital markets in Sydney and London.

Mr Snow joins the investment bank from its London headquarters where he covered ECM origination and execution across diverse markets including Europe, Russia and the Middle East, on assignments for both government and corporate clients.

The last addition Ms Robertson joins Deutsche Bank from JP Morgan and Grant Samuel in Melbourne, she brings to the firm 8 years of industry experience working in corporate finance and in equities trading.

Head of global banking Australia and New Zealand, Scott Perkins said that the bank has seen terrific momentum in the bank’s equity capital markets business with Deutsche Bank ranking number one across a number of sectors and having a lead role in ten of the top fifteen transactions in 2009.

With Justin and Robert’s international experience, the group will continue to bring its clients the best mix of global intelligence and local expertise, Mr Perkins added.

Head of equity capital markets Australia and New Zealand, Michael Richardson said of the hires that the expansion of the ECM team is an important step in Deutsche Bank’s strategic plan to build out its top-tier equities platform and continue to deliver quality transactions to its clients.
