Deutsche’s Asia Pacific CEO to depart

(16 June 2016 – Asia) Reports indicate that Deutsche Bank’s chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific region is stepping aside. Gunit Chadha, who is based in Singapore, will leave the bank on July 17.

Chadha assumed the CEO role for the region in 2015, following a three year period as co-CEO alongside Alan Cloete.

Although an immediate successor has not yet been announced, Chadha’s departure places James McMurdo in the running. McMurdo previously led the bank’s Australia and New Zealand operations, before being promoted to Asia Pacific head of corporate and investment banking in 2015.

Globally, Deutsche restructuring its business to reduces costs, and is just one of the region’s investment bank to announce job cuts and business unit is one of many global investment banks in the region impacted by tighter margins and volatile markets.
