Eales leads line-out for NAB credit card

Eales leads line-out for NAB credit card

(Australia) He may no longer be a Wallaby but former skipper John Eales has been chosen by the National Australia Bank to front its new Visa Credit Card. The bank’s Rugby World Cup Visa credit card aims to capitalise on interest in the tournament, which begins in September this year, by offering cardholders a chance to win tickets and travel to the event.

More importantly, the introduction of the new card sees the National go down a similar path to other banks – most recently the Westpac-issued Virgin Credit Card – by tempting customers with a low interest rate of 4.9 percent for the first six months.

In further news, the National has invited the former national managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, John Thorn, onto the board as an independent, non-executive director.

Thorn will join the board in October of this year.
