Elstone to step down at NAB

(16 June 2006 – Australia) Paul Rizzo will replace Robert Elstone as National Australia Bank’s chairman of the Board’s Risk Committee. Elstone, who is currently a non executive director, is set to leave the bank as a result of the merger between Australian Stock Exchange Limited and Sydney Futures Exchange.

Elstone will be appointed chief executive of the merged entity if the deal is approved by shareholders.

NAB chairman Michael Chaney said Elstone had made an outstanding contribution to the board and played a key role in enhancing the bank’s risk governance processes.

"His experience and acumen will be missed by his fellow directors," Chaney said.
