Government says no to more aid $$ !!

(Thailand) - The Thai Cabinet is not proceeding to draw down the final US$150 million of a US$300 million Asia Development Bank (ADB) loan, despite being asked to do so by the ADB. Reportedly only 2 percent of the US$150 million already drawn by Thailand had been used in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' agricultural restructuring initiatives.

Given quarterly service fees on the undrawn funds of 0.75 percent, Cabinet, contrary to the Ministry's advice has declined to proceed.
