Harrison to lead new Finsia vision

(11 July 2007 - Australia) Former CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Stephen Harrison, has joined the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia) as interim chief executive. Finsia's incumbent CEO and managing director, Brian Salter, is staying with the organisation to oversee the sale of Finsia's education business to Kaplan while Harrison works to recalibrate Finsia as a professional body focussing on member service and industry advocacy.

Harrison will work with members and stakeholders to develop a new vision for the organisation and then execute the strategy to achieve this.

Harrison was CEO of the ICAA from 1991 to 2005 and before that worked at the University of Sydney for 25 years commencing as a teaching fellow and leaving as the University’s deputy principal and bursar.

Finsia will appoint a permanent CEO before the end of this year.
