India’s HDFC Bank poaches Citibank corporate banking executive

(19 April 2016 – India) According to reports, Indian based, HDFC Bank has hired a senior executive at Citibank, to head its corporate banking business from next month.

According to the rumours, K Balasubramanian, managing director for corporate banking at Citibank, will join HDFC Bank, as it makes a concerted push to attract more companies and institutions to it lending book.

He will report to Kaizad Bharucha, executive director in charge of wholesale banking at the bank, sources said.

Balasubramanian will replace Jimmy Tata, who was in charge of corporate banking till last year. Tata is now the chief risk officer of the bank.
