INGIM builds support team
(19 August 2010 – Australia) ING Investment Management Australia has begun to build up its team, starting with appointments in the equities and fixed income divisions.
The group has appointed David Scott, formerly of Credit Suisse, as director of real estate securities with responsibility for the group’s A$1 billion listed property portfolio.
Other movements in the equities division include the promotion of small companies analyst Joel Flemming to portfolio manager of small companies.
Mr Flemming will report directly to James Wright, head of Australian equities.
The firm revealed that the equities team would be increased to 16, with two more analysts set to sign on as part of the listed property and small companies team.
To boost the fixed income team INGIM has appointed two new team members to its Australian credit research team.
Included in the hires is Ed Teh, formerly of MBIA, as senior credit analyst with responsibility for investments for the portfolios.
Joining Mr Teh is Thomas Wu, bringing the team to nine, will report to head of credit research Scott Rundell.
Mr Wu, who has been hired as a credit analyst, has previously spent time at Bridport Capital, BNP Paribas and UBS.
Its Australian chief executive, Steven Billiet, said INGIM was building to support its push into the adviser and platform sector, as well as to enhance INGIM’s institutional offering.
We expect to announce new appointments and investment solutions in the coming months, Mr Billiet said.
