Investment banker to run HSBC???

(Hong Kong) - HSBC Holdings is reportedly about to appoint its investment bank head, Stephen Green, to replace Chief Executive Keith Whitson in the next few months. The goal is to have this appointee taking over from John Bond as Executive Chairman when Bond retires at around 65 years of age.

Included in the pool, however, are Group Finance Director Douglas Flint, Chief Executive of HSBC's US operations Youssef Nasr and Chief Executive of HSBC Brazil, Michael Geoghegan. HSBC did not comment.
