Leslie Martin new head of transaction banking at CBA

(6 December 2004 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank of Australia has named Leslie Martin as the new head of its Working Capital Services division. Martin replaces Bruce Munro who recently joined National Australia Bank, and takes up the reins this week.

Before joining CBA, Martin spent 15 years with Chase Manhattan Bank in Australia, New York and Hong Kong. In 1994 she joined Westpac where she held senior roles in transaction banking, product development and service infrastructure roles.

After leaving Westpac, Martin spent two years consulting to major organisations on banking infrastructure.

In her new role at CBA Martin will oversee delivery of cash management, transaction banking, merchant acquiring, trade and receivables finance solutions to the bank’s clients. She will report to CBA group executive of Premium Business Services Michael Katz.

Katz said despite intensified competition, the bank was a leader in transaction banking and was growing market share across all business segments.

"Ms Martin’s business experience, leadership skills and client focus make her an ideal appointment to the team," he said.

"I am confident she will build on the success of ours staff in Working Capital Services and drive growth in this important part of our business," Katz said.
