Mac Bank to better last year’s profit

Mac Bank to better last year’s profit

(Australia) Macquarie Bank chief executive Allan Moss has told an audience in Hong Kong that the bank is set to deliver stronger results for fiscal year 2003 than it did in the corresponding period last year. Moss said the bank had a good pipeline of transactions and that equities related businesses were benefiting from an upturn in the markets.

He said profits for the first quarter ended June 30 was up on the previous year and that the full year (ending March 31, 2004) result would better the A$333 million profit posted in the last fiscal year.
