Macquarie Group appoints ex-Lehman
(03 March 2010 – Europe) Investment bank Macquarie Group has announced the appointment of Benoit Savoret as its new chief executive officer for Europe.
Mr Savoret’s new role includes heading all of Macquarie Group’s businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr Savoret, the former chief operating officer for Lehman Brothers, was one of five executives the bank was due to pay out A$98 million worth of bonuses to just days before its collapse in 2008, according to reports at the time.
However, reports also stated that the men did not receive their bonuses due to the investment bank declaring bankruptcy.
