Mark Paton leaves ANZ

(8 August 2006 – Australia) Mark Paton has left his role as managing director of Institutional Client Relationships at ANZ. He spent 16 years with the bank. In October 2005, Paton moved from managing director, Trade and Transaction Services, to group managing director, Corporate, after Graham Hodges left to run ANZ National Bank in New Zealand.

Paton also joined the ANZ Management Board.

ANZ has appointed Jeff Greenslade to replace Paton.

Greenslade is currently MD of Corporate and Commercial Banking for ANZ National Bank, New Zealand.

Before ANZ bought the National Bank of New Zealand in 2003, he was director Corporate and Commercial Banking for the bank.

Greenslade will report to group MD, Institutional, Steve Targett, who said he had "considerable experience in all facets of the Institutional business, from capital markets to transaction services to corporate finance".

"He has earned a strong reputation in New Zealand for his skilful leadership of client relationship businesses," Targett said.
