NAB firmly into the carbon market

(7 May 2010 – Australia) National Australia Bank (NAB) has appointed Jennifer Lauber Patterson as Head of Environmental Treasury Solutions within its Wholesale Banking division. Reporting to Connie Sokaris, Head of Product Development and Execution, Ms Lauber Patterson will be responsible for establishing NAB’s global environmental markets trading business, initially focussing on the trans-Tasman market for Certified Emission Reduction Units and Renewable Energy Certificates.

She has worked in a variety of carbon trading and financial services roles, most recently with ANZ Bank’s markets division and her own consulting business.

The current global market in carbon trading is estimated to be worth US$125 billion annually.
